Amazon Settlement Report
Definition
Amazon's statement for each payout period, listing every sale, fee, refund, reimbursement and reserve behind the deposit. It is the source document for booking Amazon activity correctly.
Want a deeper explanation?
The deposit in your bank is only the final line of a much longer story. The settlement report shows everything behind it, and booking from it is the only way to see your true Amazon sales and fees.
Settlement periods rarely line up with calendar months, so part of each one needs to be split across month-end. Watch for: Amazon revenue in your books that matches your deposits exactly, which usually means fees and refunds were never recorded.
Example
A $18,400 deposit breaks down into $31,000 of sales, $9,800 of referral and FBA fees, $2,100 of refunds and a $700 reserve.
