FBA Fulfillment Fee

Definition

The per-unit fee Amazon charges to pick, pack and ship an FBA order, based on the product's size tier, weight and, since 2026, its price range.

Fulfillment fees are a variable selling cost and belong in contribution margin. Small changes in packaging size or weight can move a product into a cheaper or pricier tier.

Amazon updates these fees regularly, including a fuel surcharge added in 2026. Watch for: unit economics built on last year's fee table, which can make a product look profitable when it is not.

Example

A 1 lb standard-size item might carry a fulfillment fee of a few dollars per unit. On a $20 product, that can be more than your profit if you do not price for it.
